Which Makita 18V batteries is it compatible with?
The BrushForce is compatible with Makita 18V LXT Series B slide-type batteries — BL1830 (3.0Ah), BL1840 (4.0Ah), BL1850 (5.0Ah), BL1430B, BL1820B and equivalent capacity variants. It is not compatible with Makita G-series batteries (including BL1813G and the 1822 series) or Ni-CD batteries. The BrushForce is not manufactured by or affiliated with Makita — Makita's brand warranty does not apply to this product.
Does it include a battery and charger?
No — the BrushForce is sold as a body-only tool, designed for professionals who already own Makita 18V LXT batteries and chargers. If you need a battery and charger, these are available separately through standard Makita stockists including Screwfix, Toolstation and Tool Station.
How does the BrushForce compare to the TorqMax in the Forjato range?
The BrushForce is a drill driver with up to 100Nm torque and a high-speed 2000 RPM top gear — the highest torque in the range for drilling and driving, in a 10mm chuck body without hammer action. The TorqMax™ has a 13mm chuck, 65Nm torque and adds a full impact hammer mode for drilling into masonry — a combi drill rather than a pure drill driver. Choose BrushForce for maximum torque in drilling and driving; TorqMax for combi drill capability including hammer drilling into brick and block.
Can it drill into masonry and concrete?
The BrushForce can drill into light masonry and soft concrete for small-diameter pilot holes when used with appropriate masonry bits, but it does not have a hammer action mode. For regular masonry drilling — brick, block, dense concrete and frame fixings — the TorqMax™ with its impact hammer mode is the appropriate tool in the Forjato range.
